D7000 with C2100t

Hello all.

I’ve spent hours on set up and I’m at my wits end.

I have (now) freshly reset to factory settings a C2100t modem/router from Century Link and a freshly reset to factory nighthawk D7000.

The dsl line is connected to dsl on the 2100. An Ethernet cord is connected from port 1 On the 2100 to the internet port on the d7000.

I have gone into the 2100 and set to transparent bridging Untagged. I have tried to run the genie set up wizard through the 7000, no internet. I went into settings and selected p p o e and put in the username and password. No internet.

What am I missing?

Why aren't you connecting the DSL line directly to the D7000?

Ha. I had no idea it was a dsl modem as well.

I just tried. The 7000 is not seeing the cable. “No dsl is plugged in.

Re: D7000 with C2100t

If the C2100t is still connected to the D7000's Internet port, then disconnect that. Normally, the D7000 can auto-sense which whether the Internet or DSL port is used, but probably not when both are connected. There is a WAN Preference setting under ADVANCED > Setup > WAN Setup where you can set the port to be used. You can double-check whether it might be set to "Must use Ethernet WAN". Change it to "Auto-Detect" or "Must use DSL WAN".
