D7000v2 requires reboot around 5 times a day

Hi,

I own a Nighthawk D7000v2, v1.0.0.52 since August from amazon.it & I live in Europe.

Replaced my 7yrs old d-link modem router due to other problems such as packet loss, that i never experience with my new Netgear product.

I faced some problems with my 5Ghz & 2.4Ghz that no longer exists.

In the last few weeks im experiencing drops in internet connection, on all devices connected (PCs, Smartphones, Smart TV, Console..) at the same time, through WiFi and Wired connection.

Quick reboots solve this problem temporarily, until it happens again. It can be every 5 hours or 15 minutes.

It happened on 2 different firmwares (0.51 and 0.52)

It drops either when it's used as a DSL Modem Router and when its used as a router through WAN.

When used as a router through WAN, Quick reboot for the D7000v2 alone solve the problem.

Connecting everything in my house (10-12 devices) through static IP addresses didn't solve the problem.

The LEDs on the router stay lit and solid white\amber even when the connection drops.

Can anyone please help?

Thanks.

Only idea I have Nathan is that my v1 magically started working after I disabled Beamforming. Maybe won't help you but it's easy to try.

I tried that 2 days ago, no changes really.. Thanks anyways.

Can moderators provide support?

Anymore information needed?

Re: D7000v2 requires reboot around 5 times a day

Nathan you said "in the last few weeks" this started happening, so your challenge is to figure out "what changed" that your 7000 decided it doesn't like. At least, I would look there (new client devices? changed firmware in clients? etc) in before suspecting any hardware issue with the 7000. Maybe you should try upgraded to latest fw .52 and then doing a factory reset, asserting your settings "from scratch".

You could first try a different SSID on the router so that not all devices can connect after the "upgrade", and then add them one-by-one or whatever to see what happens. This is feasible if as you say the reboots happen so often i.e. you won't spend weeks finding a culprit.

FWIW I try to keep a detailed diary about my network, especially any configuration changes I might make; can help sometimes.

Re: D7000v2 requires reboot around 5 times a day

I had so many problems with my D7000 that required changes in settings and reboots so i can't tell if that one "minor" problem existed or not

By resetting to factory settings im afraid i'll face the same problems i had when i bought the product

Don't know how much time you have, but you could see if you can return it for either another D7000v2 or a credit for a different device.

Re: D7000v2 requires reboot around 5 times a day

Following a surprisingly stable half a week with up to 1 maybe 2 reboots a day,

A Cable that got unplugged-replugged from a PC side (D7000 side untouched) caused instant connection drop on all devices connected Wired and Wireless.
