D7800 Firmware update in modem mode?
Hi All
My home setup consists of of;
Nighthawk D7800 set to modem mode
Nighthawk MR60 router
Nighthawk MS60 satellite
I've just updated the firmware on my MR60 and MS60 and I got to wondering what happens if there is a firmware update for my D7800?
As the device is now set to modem only mode is it not possible to access the UI (as far as I am aware) so my quesiton is two fold really;
1. As the D7800 is now set to modem mode, do I need to update the firmware (when an update is available)?
2. If I do need to update the firmware (when one is available) - how do I do it?
Many thanks
Gary

It'd depend. I'd expect most firmware changes to affect the router
functions, but I know nothing. If the firmware Release Notes ever
provided any useful info, then that might help decide.

The DM200 "modem" seems to have a special "192.168.5.1" address for
such purposes (like the "192.168.100.1" for a DOCSIS cable modem), but I
doubt that any Dxxxx model does that.
My guess is that you'd need to do a settings reset to get it back to
modem+router mode, do the firmware update, make sure that the DSL
configuration is good, and then set it back to modem-only mode.
