DGN 2000 Speed problem

I had a problem with the TV BBC I-player buffering all the time. The Virgin broadband tech checked out the up & down speeds and concluded that the feed to the house was ok but it was not reaching the TV at that speed. He guided me through various setting adjustments which did sort out the buffering, but he reckons that the router is still only pushing out about half of the input speed and suggested that there might be a problem with the router.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on this? What is the maximum speed this router is capable tranfering through to the TV and the house computers? (The only unit running when this testing was going on was the netbook).

The ISP is Virgin media, who say they are supplying up to 8Mb. The speeds found today using BT Wholesale (BTW) Broadband Performance Test are: Download = 1.37Mbps, Upload = 0.22Mbps. Ping Latency = 57.38ms.

Does this throw any light on the problem?
What does "sobered negotiated" mean?

Ralph.

You may want to talk to ISP if your provision is for 8MB

Virginmedia say that they are supplying the required speed, but tell me my Netgear router is sending the data onward to the PC at a lot lower speed than that.

Re: DGN 2000 Speed problem

It it was "Provision " on your account for 8Mbps then should be pulling.

Also VDSL2+ could be an issues well if your ISP is using that
