DGN2200v4 - unable to flash firmware using TFTP
I am trying to update the firmware on my Netgear DGN2200v4 from the crappy v1.0.0.24 that my ISP offers to the latest v1.0.0.58 offered by Netgear.
I followed the steps as outlined by CV_REX here (http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1926441), also using this (http://forum1.netgear.com/showthread.php?t=30453) as comparison instructions.
My issue is that when I try to flash the new firmware (or any firmware!) using TFTP2, it won't work
I can successfully ping the router (albeit at 192.168.1.1, not 192.168.0.1 which is supposed to be the default IP for it), but both Windows 7 & 8 seem to continually try to refresh the LAN connection. This appears to mean that I can't get a stable connection to the router, and it drops out every 5-10 seconds, which doesn't give the TFTP enough time to flash the firmware  This is a screenshot of a continual ping of the router (using 'ping -t 192.168.1.1') to demonstrate what I mean by it dropping out - http://i.imgur.com/h1YNAK9.jpg
Any suggestions as to how I can prevent this dropping out/refreshing of the LAN connection, or other ways of flashing the firmware? The Windows-based TFTP client has been unsuccessful too. I've tried on 4 different computers running Windows 7, also tried on one running Windows 8

Re: DGN2200v4 - unable to flash firmware using TFTP
Also, I have tried disabling link detection as per this page: https://erikwramner.wordpress.com/2013/02/09/how-to-disable-link-detection-for-windows-7/
No success - Windows 7 continues to cycle the LAN trying to discover the network, then disabling it momentarily

Reset the rourter. Press the reset button for more than 30 seconds and try the TFTP again.
