I am trying to update the firmware on my Netgear DGN2200v4 from the crappy v1.0.0.24 that my ISP offers to the latest v1.0.0.58 offered by Netgear.
I followed the steps as outlined by CV_REX here (

My issue is that when I try to flash the new firmware (or any firmware!) using TFTP2, it won't work :confused:
I can successfully ping the router (albeit at 192.168.1.1, not 192.168.0.1 which is supposed to be the default IP for it), but both Windows 7 & 8 seem to continually try to refresh the LAN connection. This appears to mean that I can't get a stable connection to the router, and it drops out every 5-10 seconds, which doesn't give the TFTP enough time to flash the firmware :mad: This is a screenshot of a continual ping of the router (using 'ping -t 192.168.1.1') to demonstrate what I mean by it dropping out -

The Windows-based TFTP client has been unsuccessful too. I've tried on 4 different computers running Windows 7, also tried on one running Windows 8
