DGND3700 v2 - An IP request causes bricking

I purchased this unit about a few weeks ago and have 3 replacements. I am trying to avoid a 4th replacement.

After any of my machines connect to the modem-router, the IP request bricks the modem-router (all LED's turn off with the exception of the POWER LED which turns solid red). This happens regardless of whether the client is connecting on the wired and wireless interfaces. Re-powering and Restoring Factory Settings do not help.

Occasionally, the modem-router can be brought back alive after a random combination of removing + re-inserting the power plug, and pressing the on/off and the 'restore factory settings' buttons. This takes about 50 tries and 30 minutes (on average), but then connecting any client will cause the unit to brick again.

If my clients connect use a static IP everything is fine. But once I add any machine that uses DHCP to request an IP, the modem-router bricks and the whole network goes down.

Has anybody been experiencing the same problems? I've got my replacement from different stores so I've dismissed the suspicions of a defective batch.

Thanks,
Tom
