DGND3700v2 Ethernet latch up
The ethernet on my router keeps latching up when I transfer large volumes of data on the LAN. I have experienced this when streaming video and after attaching a NAS (and proceeding to move the data to the NAS).
When this happens the wireless continues to operate fine - including internet access.
To rectify this I need to reboot the router; (strangely) sometimes twice.
I have the latest router firmware (V1.1.00.26_1.00.26)
Has anyone else witnessed thiskind of behaviour?
Thanks

Hello bryonbaker
Does it slow down the transfer rate or does it just completely lock up and then you gotta reboot?

Hello bryonbaker
Have you tried to revert to a older firmware to see if the same issues persists this could let us narrow down the issue if something is wrong with the latest firmware.

Re: DGND3700v2 Ethernet latch up
I am not needing to transfer large volumes of data again so have not reproduced it. I'll run some tests over the weekend.
Some additional data for the last failure is:
I was moving about 30Gb of data from a ReadyShare USB in the back of the router to a new NAS.
So the data flow was USB -> PC -> NAS. The NAS was connected directly to the router and supports 1Gb Ethernet. I had a 100Mb Hub between the PC and the router.

Re: DGND3700v2 Ethernet latch up
Okay - it happened again to day after I transferred 4Gb to a NAS.
Network pattern was Mac -> 100Mb Hub -> DGND3700v2 -> NAS
Wirless continued to work fine for LAN and WAN.
I did two things - not sure which solved it.
This time I tried pinging the router via wirless hoping to "wake it up"
I rebooted the hub only
I suspect it is the hub...

Re: DGND3700v2 Ethernet latch up
Hi,
I have reproduced it again today. Again I was transferring a lot of data over the LAN.
I have discounted the Hub as the cause.
Wifi continued to work fine - could browse the LAN and WAN. Ethernet was complketely dead and I needed to reboot the router. Soft reboot did not work - I needed to power-cycle the router (which is consistent with every other occasion bar one).
Firmware version is: V1.1.00.26_1.00.26. How do you suggest I revert to an older firmware version?

Hello bryonbaker
You may want to contact Netgear support at this point if it may be a hardware issue and you are still under warranty it may need replaced.
