Greetings to the forum members.

I have just purchased the above modem/router in preparation for my imminent connection to the NBN service via FTTN.

Having just joined this forum I see many disatisfied comments regarding this modem/router and only one fair comment following the

updated firmware version 1.0.1.10 whith the comment stating the update appears to have fixed many problems.

Can any other members on this forum that is using this modem/router make comment in favour of this unit!!.

I am 120 yards from the node that will service my address, my copper line has been checked for noise issues etc and cleared, so I do not

expect any problems on that score, my ADSL2+ has been stable even at the maximum speed of 1.5mbps being that we are one kilometer

from the exchange.

You can update but if you run into any issues you can always revert the firmware.

I appreciate your reply.

I have installed the X4S on my ADSL2 connection and it is working fine, it links very quickly, much better than my TP-LINK Archer D9 did, however I will not be

connected to the NBN until the 3rd Oct next, so I am unable to give feedback until then.

I have not yet checked the firmware version on the X4S but will refrain from updating even if there is a an update until I have run the X4S for a while unless you

advise I should update?, it before connection to the NBN.

Hi DarrenM.......Further to my previous reply, I am a little disappointed that the X4S is not Voip compatible, which means a further expense to buy an ATA

or Voip comatible phone system.
