Model D7000 DSL remote access stopped
This router crashed and now i cannot access remotely from Genie app. This is a vacation home. I have tghe remote management turned on ands I have the https:// number directly from the router. I need to reboot this router once a week but I cannot access now from genie. My neighbor can access for me through the windows desktop routerlogin.com but I need to get me own control back if possible.
ANy suggestions would be helpful.

D7000[v1] or D7000v2? Look for "Model" on the product label.
Firmware version? Connected to what?

"cannot" is not a useful problem description. It does not say what
you did. It does not say what happened when you did it. As usual,
showing actual actions (commands) with their actual results (error
messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague
descriptions or interpretations.

You've verified all that _since_ it "crashed" (whatever that means)?
Have you tried that URL in a web browser? Any actual error message?

Have him look at ADVANCED > Advanced Setup > Remote Management, and
see if the feature is enabled ("Turn Remote Management On"), and if you
and the D7000[vX] agree on the "Remote Management Address" (URL)?

Nothing to do with anything?

Re: Model D7000 DSL remote access stopped
The router was just updated with the latest BIOS
Remote router management is turned on, I have the remote management address
I have tried this in my search engine, resulty after verifying the address several time that the browser timed out
As mentioned the router was shutdown during a opower disruption the genie would not access the router remotely. Have had this remote working for several years without any problem.
Ideas would be appreciated and I appreciate your comment (s)....

Still wondering. Your neighbor should be able to see those data on
the management web site of the D7000[vX], too.
> The router was just updated with the latest BIOS
It's called "firmware", not a "BIOS" (because it's not a BIOS). As
always, an actual version number would be more useful than your opinion
of what's "latest" today. (As requested. An actual firmware version
might have resolved the model-number mystery, too.)

I'll try again.

Still wondering.

Which "this", exactly? "search engine"? Do you mean web browser?
> [...] resulty after verifying the address several time that the

"verifying" how, exactly?
Better progress might be possible if you actually answered the
questions, providing descriptions of actual events and actual
observations, instead of providing your interpretations and conclusions
based thereon.
> As mentioned the router was shutdown during a opower disruption [...]
I seem to have missed any such mentioning. Or is that what "crashed"
means to you?
> [...] Have had this remote working for several years without any

Apparently, something has changed. Might be the WAN/Internet IP
address of the D7000[vX], which I can't see from here. Perhaps the
D7000[vX] lost some setting or other. As usual, many things are
possible, which makes accurate, precise descriptions more helpful than
reassurances of correctness (of questionable reliability or freshness).

Re: Model D7000 DSL remote access stopped
Is the netgear genie google app still able to communicate with this rounter? (D7000 v.1 with firmwear update) I have tried the Nighthawk app as well without success......obviously something changed with the router or the application. Anything is poissible......I have depended on this hardware to remotely run my smarthome which is located over the river. My only option for connection is DSL...and not very dependable. I also operate another location with cable modem and have no issues. This rounter is the first version of this series and may need to be upgraded. I would like to be able to make this one respond until I can personally install the new system.

Thanks for answering one question, at least.

I use a D7000[v1] (V1.0.1.78_1.0.1). I don't use Remote Management
with mine, so I know nothing, but the worst problem I have with it is
that it freezes solid after about a month of operation, requiring a
power cycle to recover. I have not used a D7000v2, but from what I've
read about it here, it seems to be worse in every way than the
D7000[v1]. (Except that it costs less to manufacture.)

I'd like to help, but without clear answers to the pending questions,
I don't know how to do that.

DSL modem/routers don't seem to be on the hit list of devices that Netgear wants to shove on to the NIghhawk app. So the Netgear Android genie still works for some of those devices.
Which products support the NETGEAR Nighthawk app? | Answer | NETGEAR Support
As Netgear also seems to be withdrawing from the DSL modem business, I wouldn't expect to see many changes on that front.
