Nighthawk X4S D7800 NBN Compatibility
Hi all,
I was just wondering how I would set up this modem to work with NBN. All the sites I have checked say it can work with it, however, it has no FXS (VOIP) port. Are all the sites saying that you can hook up the NBN if you don't have a phone or are they saying it can work if I purchase an extra device? According to my ISP when they came to install NBN you need an FXS port in order for the phone line to work since they have done something with the wiring that comes to my house. I get FTTN (Fiber to the Node) NBN so I don't know if that changes anything but I would like to know if it can work as it's a lot of money to spend on a modem. Is there another modem that would work or do I have to wait until companies start releasing modems with these ports.
Regards
Charlotte

Hello CcGraham
You would have to get a separate device for the phone as the modem does not have a specific port for the phone.
