I have tried all I can to get my Router in sync with my file transfer service, all to no avail. I've tried adding exceptions to Windowes 7 firewall but that doesn't help. Could someone help a novice get his router opened up?

Be sure that the Random checkbox is not checked. You should only
use random ports if you don't have any firewall or router.
I don't see how port forwarding by your router could be practical
with a service which lacks fixed ports to which to forward traffic.
If all this traffic is tunneled through a VPN, then the VPN might be
what is causing the problem. It's not obvious to me that your router
configuration is your problem.

The non-psychics in your audience don't know what this is, which
makes it difficult to supply any useful advice.

You're right, I apologize. I'm using Windows 7 OS, using Shareaza P2P FTP, connected through "VPN4ALL" VPN. Shareaza set for utilizing random ports.
