Unable to Connect PS4 to WiFi and Other Issues
Hey,
I have owned the D7800 for a while now, without problem.
However some things have been happening that I am less than impressed with.
I have tried connecting my new PS4 Wirelessly to my Modem/Router and it was successful for a few days. Then I started getting intermittent dropouts. After these dropouts it became impossible for the PS4 to connect to the Router and timed out with every try. The screen gets stuck on please wait, before dropping out.I have also had problems connecting to other devices such as.my laptop and phone. They only seem to work properly whilst the desktop computer, the modem router is connected to is on. I have reset the modem and then tried to login into the Genie to give a firmware update and restore to default settings, however everytime I attempt to login it immediately reject me saying I am not authorised and I have to go through password recovery. I follow the steps and then the login form comes up for a second before I am yet again forced into the password recovery screen. This is strange as I am able to connect to the Genie via smartphone without problem.
In the meantime I have to use a Wifi Extender to connect the PS4 to the Router, however it's NAT type is Moderate Type 2, meaning I am sometimes unable to join other players.
Hoping someone has some steps I can follow to help me get The Genie working on my Desktop and being able to connect the PS4 to the Router.
Thanks

Re: Unable to Connect PS4 to WiFi and Other Issues
On-top of this when I do connect online on 2K20 using the Extender, every online game drops out with error code 56d85bb8. This seems to be a common problem with Nighthawk Routers.

Re: Unable to Connect PS4 to WiFi and Other Issues
Smells like a PS4 issue. You aren't the first.
See if you can find anything useful here:
Search - NETGEAR Communities – PS4
Getting the configuration right is not always easy.
Generally, the advice is to use a wired connection for heavy duty gaming stuff.
