Hello,
My Modem/Router is a Nighthawk D7000v2 AC 1900 WiFi VDSL/ASDL. I'm running Win 10, current update.
I'm trying to install new firmware listed on https://kb.netgear.com/000064348/D7000v2-Firmware-Version-1-0-0-76 shown as last updated 11/05/2021.
I have tried to update through the router login and the Netgear Genie and the update was not found.
I tried downloading from https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/D7000v2/D7000v2_V1.0.0.76_1.0.1.zip and opening with Microsoft and also 7-Zip and the firmware extracted as a *chk file identified as Recovered File Fragments and an online file with the download link, again, same file. So, could not do an install of firmware from computer file.
I can get stuck on the stupid stuff, but I did extract the files and tried everything from the top after restarting the computer and turned off the anti-virus & firewall turned.
I would really appreciate any help, or is this a bad file?
Thank you!!!

The .chk file is the new firmware
Get the manual for your router and read the bit Manually Upload New Firmware and Update the Modem Router
Or read this:
How do I manually upgrade firmware to my NETGEAR router? | Answer | NETGEAR Support
The best way to do this is with a browser on a wired connection to a PC .
Just another user with a set of boilerplate macros.

Re: V1.0.0.76_1.0.1.zip Firmware update unzips as *.chk file
tyvm
Yesterday when I extracted .chk file, it went extracted to another folder & cloud. Yea, that's why it wasn't installing with router manual interface.
Followed your directions & it worked from download file extraction.... big DUH
Thanks again!
