connecting a DG834G to another DG834G to create a WAN

I am not sure if this is even possible, but would really appreciate any advice.

I have a number of old DG834G I want to connect 2 of these together, not to any other networks or the internet. The purpose is to allow students to learn about configuring firewalls on the router.

So can the ADSL port be connected to the other router's ADSL port to effectively create a mini WAN between the 2 LANs?

I was thinking maybe a crossover RJ11 cable or something?

Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Paul

I don't think it's that simple - I believe a DSL modem has to have a DSL Access Multiplexer (commonly known as DSLAM at the other end for it to sync with - however - I have a friend how used to work at the local Telco - I'll ask and get back to you.

Ok - my ex Telco contact says for DSL modems you have to have a DSLAM, there are other modems that can connect "back-to-back" but not DSL.
