d6300 does not reconnect to web after power outage

d6300 does not reconnect to web after power outage
hi
every time there is a power outage my d6300 will not reconnect to the WAN , all lights are "ON" but genie lamp is red , Genie then shows me that there is no connection I press the internet box from the Genie web box , i No connection from PC to MODEM/router to WAN , it then connects PC to Modem/router then asked to reboot modem/router , I press yes , then a web Tab appears asked to log onto router /modem then it sometimes a few seconds but usually several minutes for it to reconnect and sometimes I have to reboot more than twice .
is there a setting that will auto connect or is this just a S_IT modem/router
sorry firm ware is v10.0.90

I checked via Genie for latest firmware it said i was up todate but found on netgear site firm v1.0.0.96_1 so what happening here then ?????

I'm having an identical problem with my D6000 - it doesn't want to automatically reconnect the ADSL connection after a power outage. I cannot find any possible setting that would fix it in the menus. If you manually start the connection and provide login details it functions perfectly. Every other custom setting is saved so I'm guessing it's not actually forgetting the login details, just not using them for some reason.

yes its a pity they don't reconnect , No doubt its too hard for netgear to change some code that we could a option tick box indicating a re connection option !!!

Can you explain what you mean by that?
Netgear is open to suggestions. (Although this may not be the place for them.)
But they need to know what you are suggesting.
Do you want an option for what the device should do after a power outage? (I know that this option is available on many PCs and network attached storage boxes.)
If so, can you think of any circumstances when someone would not want their device to turn back on and reconnect?
My modem (D6400) always comes back on and reconnects.
Of course, the cause of the power outage may have an effect here. If it was a local thunder storm, then there is a risk that a lightning strike has fried the device in some way, or scrambled it memory. There's not much that Netgear, or anyone, can do when that happens.

well you are lucky that yours does , mine does not .. mine is not fried either , it simply does not re connect to the web when the power goes off and comes back. untill i do a router reset , unplug the power to router , will not reconnect to the WEB regardless that all lights on front of the unit indicate that I am connected ,
when i check in advance settings , its has NOT WAN IP or DNS addresss untill i do a reset Modem /router and you may say well do a reset so what , well that only works if I'm at home and on my PC , even the LAN WIFI side is dead
I wouldn't be able to log in externally
So the question here now is Why does yours work and why doesn't my firmware have the same ability

Could it be anything to do with how your ISP runs its network? They all differ in their login routines. Some make it harder than others.
If everyone with this box had the same issues, there would be many more complaints here.
As to the firmware, maybe you are using a new one that broke something. (That has happened.) You could experiment with an earlier version.
