3700v2 portforward: does internal port# have to be same as external port#?
I just purchased a 3700v2
I need to map WAN ports on router to different internal ports. I cannot figure out how to do this on this confusing setup. If that is true it is the first router I'[ve ever used that couldn't do it.
Is it true?

Re: v2 router problem with port forwarding
I think I have same problem and judging by no one answering your question, I'd say we might be screwed. It appears external port must be equal to internet. This is the first router I've used that had this problem. That is a serious limitation/flaw. They should fix the firmware/setup if so.

Re: v2 router problem with port forwarding
If port translation is supported you will find in port forwarding rules. If not it means it does not support.

If not shows as an options then it does NOT support.
Netgear consumer line do no support port transition to to choose external port to internal ports.
R7000 does support

That is amazing. It is first router I've used that did not support it.

Nogero, please don’t post the same question in more than one thread.

@nogero , You may be able to do it setting port mappings via a uPnP client (V1 lets you do it this way).
In a Linux OS a client such as 'UPnP Router Control' will do it if you want a GUI.

Re: v2 router problem with port forwarding
The "To add a custom service:" section of the help documentation describes setting a internal port and an external port. That help document also states that it applies to the DGND3700v2. http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/24046

Re: v2 router problem with port forwarding
Unfortunately that help documentation is incorrect and the DGND3700V2 does not have the pictured options when port forwarding, simply a name, a type, a start port for the range, and an end port for the range field. This is annoying as hell.
