400 Error code when asked for a new password on Firmware Update for D6000
Can anyone advise - I have a D6000 and have tonight done a Firmware update - which seems to have worked...
BUT.... I can no longer log in to my router admin panel.
A screen appears asking for a new password to be set...
I set a new password and I get a 400 error code and
401 Unauthorized
Access to this resource is denied, your client has not supplied the correct authentication.
So, although I think the firmware has updated I have now lost the ability to use the router's control panel

Have you tried a factory reset?

How are you accessing the modem/router?
Where possible, avoid mobile apps and opt for wired connections.
What gives you that error message? If it is a browser, try a different one. Browsers are getting increasingly severe in their approach to security. For them, a local link to a router is suspicious.

Re: 400 Error code when asked for a new password on Firmware Update for D6000
Anyone?
My IP address has always been http://192.168.1.1 - I have tried http://192.168.0.1/ but that doesn't work at all.
This is on a desktop computer that has worked for quite some time. Due to an intermittent broadband I decided that maybe I should do the firmware update that was flagged in my router control panel. Once I updated it, a pop-up asked for a new login... I did that and got the error message. Now, I can't access the control panel of my router at all.
I work on a Windows 10 pc with a wired in router.

You didn't answer @plemans . Did you reset after the update?

Where did you see the popup? At what stage?

Any errors showing in Windows networking? If it sees a "new" network, Windows may decide to block what it sees as something unsafe.

Re: 400 Error code when asked for a new password on Firmware Update for D6000
Hi,
I have subsequently done a reset (pin into the hole etc) but it hasn't made any difference.
The error occurred immediately after I did the firmware update - I currently have intermittent broadband issues which is why I did the firmware update. although the internet issues are persisting.
Basically, it doesn't seem to want to accept the login details of 'admin' and 'password'
on the screen attached.

Aha! Note that warning about the connection.
Tried another browser?
These are getting increasingly severe in how they interpret connections. They hate http. They want https but that is not needed on a local site.
Did you ever try routerlogin.net?

I have tried different browsers but the same result.
and the same at http://routerlogin.com/ - it just won't let me login.
I have gone to run and cmd and pinged 192.168.1.1 and got sent and received.

According to the subject, this is the error you see:
Bad Request 400
Tried a search for that?

Re: 400 Error code when asked for a new password on Firmware Update for D6000
Hi @Neil23,
Good day!
We are sorry for not being able to get back to you immediately. The default IP address of the D6000 DSL modem is 192.168.1.1. Now going back to your concern, have you tried using other devices like a smartphone maybe or another computer and tried to access the modem's user interface?
Please do not hesitate to let me know if you need further assistance.
Regards,
Oliver
