AC1900 in use for a year suddenly has no WiFi signal strength
AC1900 D7000 was purchased for home use a little over a year ago and was working awesome. Mainly just a few home devices on the network and a WiFi extender.
Sometime last night the WiFi signal strength dropped so far you can only get a signal when literally being close enough to the router for your device to touch it.
Trying to analyze the signal strength in the house reinforces that assertion. I've updated firmware to the latest version.
WiFi works when closer enough and the ethernet works just fine. Any troubleshooting suggestions short of just doing a factory reset?

Have you done a simple restart? Off and on at the mains?
Any chance that someone nearby has added wifi that is interfering with what you see?

Yes, restarting and power cycling were all completed as initial troubleshooting steps.
And I don't suspect interference because the signal my extender is putting out is completely unaffected. Essentially, there is simply no signal strength from the router more than inches away and even that is very weak.
