Amber light on Nighthawk router R6900P
Hello,
I recently moved my modem and router to a new spot in my house (farther away from the TV to stop interferance from happening) and when I began the process of turning the systems back on, the Nighthawk R6900P Router power light stays amber. It was working before I moved it across the room and now it won't turn white. I have checked the ethernet cables, restarted the network, and all that jazz. However, it still won't connect or show up as an available wifi network. The ethernet does work and the modem has internet. Please help me to figure out what is going on.

Re: Amber light on Nighthawk router R6900P
There is a support for the R6900P somewhere at the end of this link:
>>> R6900P | Product | Support | NETGEAR <<<
There is a section in the manual Troubleshoot With the LEDs (page 203). This suggests a problem with the firmware. Moving the device isn't likely to have caused that, unless you turned off the power when it was updating the firmware.
As you have moved the whole system, I would try staring the devices in the right order:
- Turn off and unplug the modem.
- Turn off the modem router and computers.
- Plug in the modem and turn it on. Wait 2 minutes.
- Turn on the modem router and wait 2 minutes.
- Turn on the computers.
