Anyway of using D7000 to keep a printer awake?

Hi all,

Apologies if this is a dumb question - I am not an expert on this networking and router stuff but...

I have a HP m252dw laser colour printer which I used wirelessly and is great - except for one or to annoying features.

The main annoying feature is that after 8hrs of inactivity the printer shuts down completely and I have to physically go and switch it on again.

However, there is a setting which delays the shutdown if there is network activity - which is reported to work fine with a wired ethernet connection.

Unfortunately for me a wired connection would be tricky where the printer is located.

So, I was hoping to try some way of somehow generating activity over the Wifi connection.

Is there any way the D7000 can be configured to periodically ping the printer or some such other activity which would hopefully stop the printer from turning off?

Thanks in advance for any tips!

No setting that can do this on the D7000 sorry you may want to look on the net someone may of made something that can do this across your network.
