Can’t Register Device (D7000)

I purchased this product used from Goodwill about a year ago. I have had no success attempting to register it to my account. I am hoping there are employees/support here that can help me. I do not have the proof of purchase of the device from the third party seller. I have the device and the model number and that’s it.

Was there something in particular you were trying to do so you want it registered?

Is there a forum that I can find the latest security updates and everything for the device on, and a good way you would recommend managing it other than through the Geeni app? If so, then no, there would be no particular reason.

   D7000[v1] or D7000v2?  Look for "Model" on the product label.
Firmware version?

   Not the device in your picture.  (And a rear view would have been
more helpful.)

   Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your (actual) model number,
and look for Downloads.  (For older versions, under Firmware and Software
Downloads, look for "View Previous Versions".)  Find the kit(s).
Download the kit(s) you want.  Read the "Release Notes" file for
instructions.  (In the User Manual, look for "firmware", and,
especially, for a topic like "Manually Upload Firmware to the Router".)

   Nearby, you should also find Documentation, including the User
Manual, which explains many things.
