Cann't ping my ip address from remote

Hi, this is liana working in the Mindmajix, I am using Netgear dgn1000 router. I cant able to ping the public static ip address assigned to my netgear router from external computer. For testing, how can i do this.

   In the web-browser interface: ADVANCED > Setup > WAN Setup : Respond
to Ping on Internet Port?

   If you don't already have the User Manual for your router, then visit
http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look for
Documentation.  Get the User Manual.  Read.  Look for "ping".
