Cannot add entries to the Address Reservation table on a Nighthawk AC190 D7000v2

I am receiving error messgage "The IP address should be within the DHCP range." when attempting to add a "Address Reservation" for an attached device.

The device (printer) is attached and usable on network.

I want to assign reserved address 192.168.0.111.

- Use Router as DHCP server is ticked

- Starting IP address is 192.168.0.2

- Ending IP address is 192.168.0.254

What's the problem? What's the solution?

Can anyone help please?

   Firmware version?

How many address reservations exist already?

Luckily, I have only D7000[v1], so I know nothing, but I'd vote for
defective firmware.  First, I know of no good reason to restrict address
reservations to the DHCP pool.  I see no such restriction here
(D7000[v1]).  I have twenty-odd address reservations, none of which is
in my (small: ".223" - ".239") pool.

One might imagine a lame/misleading error message, caused by some
other bad user-supplied data on the ADVANCED > Setup > LAN Setup : Add
form, but, around here (/24 subnet), the "IP Address" field is
changeable only in the last octet, so it's tough to do much wrong there.
My error message for a bad value there (>254, for example) is "Invalid
IP address. Please enter it again."  (I can also get "Invalid MAC
address." for an invalid MAC address.  But nothing about the DHCP pool.)

A nonsense message which doesn't apply to the actual input sounds to
me like bad firmware.

Complain to Netgear?  Try a different/older firmware version?  Keep
the D7000v2 as a modem, but get a better router (if you don't use
PPPoA)?

You could waste some time and effort with a settings reset and
reconfiguration, but I claim that the fact that that message exists is,
in itself, a bug.

My firmware version is V1.0.0.56_1.0.1.

I downloaded this also as the modem said I had a new version of firmware available.

This is a brand new installation of the D7000v2 (replacing an older Netgear N300) - where I am attempting to implement an identical configuration.

-

Thanks for the information that this may be a firmware errror.

I am minded to agree, since I see that all other changes I make to the LAN Setup page are being ignored - despite being updated into the modem and it being rebooted.

Re: Cannot add entries to the Address Reservation table on a Nighthawk AC1900 D7000v2

UPDATE:   After abortive 1 hour online chat (got nowhere) + abortive 1 hour on phone support (got nowhere) + successful 1 hour + on phone support;   I was advised to do a factory reset an start again.

-

So I have now finally completed all the configuration a second time, and got back to the same point & problem as before (see original post and also below in this post)

-

So time to give up for the time being.

Time also to decide whether to return the D7000v2 as a "defective product" (which it obviously is) or to put up with this shortcoming.

NB:  In addition to not accepting ANY Address Reservation tabel entries, I also cannot update any other values on the LAN setup page.

Ever update is reversed back to its before value once the modem has finished rebooting.

Original error reported  --- still also current error.
