Chromecast can not connect to WiFi D6400
Had a second gen Chromcast working perfectly for several years connected to our Netgear router (D6400) in Australia. Suddenly stops working a few days ago ..says it's not connected to the WiFi network. Spend many hours troubleshooting, plus phone email contact w Chromecast support in US but no joy. Did everything that Google advise (reboot, power CC from wall socket, factory reset CC etc etc) can connect to CC device over Bluetooth, but keeps failing to connect to WiFi router (error is check network and password). Recently had to manually upgrade Netgear firmware to v18.104.22.168_1.0.88 but that did not solve issue. When I look on connected devices there seems to be the CC device already connected, but even if I block that device in the Access Control settings, the CC still will not connect. Also, the CC device doesn't seem to broadcast its own WiFi network, which is how I originally connected to the WiFi....I'm completely at a dead end and so frustrated as I can see any reason why the CC should stop connecting to the WiFi ...desperate for any ideas or solutions ...thanks!
