D3600 Firmware 1.0.0.67 and Higher
Hi
Just updated my router from 1.0.0.65 to the latest release 1.0.0.72
I noted that:
1) if I set the DNS manually on the INTERNET section, the DSL connection is not starting up automatically
2) The Connection Status Window, from Advanced\Internet Port\Connection Status, is not displayed. Firefox, Chrome or IE no change
The same problem with 1.0.0.67 or 1.0.0.68
I reverted to 1.0.0.65
Anyone has faced the same problem? Any fix?
Thanks to all

Did you reset the router to factory settings after the firmware flash?
New firmware sometimes introduces changes that are not compatible with the old configuration.
So while it isn't guaranteed to fix problems a factory reset is the first thing to try if you have issues with new firmware.
This is a nuisance because you then have to reconfigure the device all over again.
You can backup your settings before you reset and restore them later. But that may just bring back the fault. Then again, at least you will know if the reset fixed the problem.

Re: D3600 Firmware 1.0.0.67 and Higher
Thanks for posting - I have exactly the same issue except I don't manually specify DNS. Factory rest subsequent to firmware did not resolve the issue.
The failure to automatically reconnect has plagued my router from time to time but the ability to manually connect via the connection status window resolved it (although this was super frustrating).
It seems extraordinary that Netgear would introduce such a bug, I would have expected regression testing to have picked this up considering it is documented functionality and not an edge case.
Took your lead and rolled back to .65 where the problem does not exist.
Would be great to hear a resolution from Netgear on this.

What setting did you have for Connection Mode?
Always on? Dial on demand? Manually connect?
It is easy to get that one wrong.

Re: D3600 Firmware 1.0.0.67 and Higher
Hi Deeklark
The failure on the automatic reconnect is due to the use of manual setting of DNS server.
If I set to get it from my ISP, it works fine all the time.
Shall I set manually Google DNS, most of the times fail.
I tried now to set Google DNS as primary and my ISp as secondary.
Seems to be better.
The problem is that the CONNECTION window is not displayed at all, for me, FW bug.
NETGEAR has not repalyed yet even to my ticket.
Keep waiting
Ciao

In the last FW, 1.0.0.75 NETGEAR has removed to option to manually restart the connection.
The CONNECTION Window has disappeared....
To reestablish the connection ????

Removed from where?
What steps did you take to get you there?
