D6000 firmware update with conflicting version numbers

Hi there,
Today I recieved an email from netgear telling me that there is a new security update for one of my registered products.

the email detailed theat I shoul upgrade to v1.0.0.75 which is the latest firmware on the netgear website.

However, somehow, I'm already on V1.0.0.76 which does not apear on the website.

the question I have is, should i "downgrade" to the latest? or leave it as is?

thank you in advance for any help.

Netgear incompetence rides again. A sudden splurge of email telling people to look for "new" firmware that is actually many months old.

I got the same email for my devices, some of which were updated to the latest six months ago.

Leave it alone.

Now we can expect a flood of messages here from people asking if those messages are genuine. Sigh.

   It doesn't?  I see 1.0.0.78 and 1.0.0.76 there (as well as 1.0.0.75,
...).  Where, exactly, "on the website" are you looking?

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Downloads.  (For older versions, under Firmware and Software
Downloads, look for "View Previous Versions".)  Find the kit(s).
Download the kit(s) you want.  Read the "Release Notes" file for
instructions.

If you don't care about the "Security Fixes" or any other possible
(but poorly documented) "enhancements".  If the newer version works less
well than what you have, then you should be able to reload the older
version.

There might be, if it were true.
