D6220 does not work with modem only from nbn HFC

I'm sorry for my English. I'm not a native speaker
Hello guys. I'm having trouble with modem
So, I wanna get some help from you guys.
I'll explain about my situation first
My ISP - iinet
Nbn box -arris cm8200
Modem - don't know what is the model. Just received from isp
Router Asus GT-ax11000
Nbn type - HFC
This is my specs
I bought D6220 to replace my modem from isp but d6220 doesn't work well.
First, I tried with modem/router then it works well but when I changed to modem, it doesn't work
I have to use my Asus router therefore I must have to set up the modem.
nbn box----------------(UTP cable)----------------modem------------------(UTP cable)----------------router
All of cables are cat.6 even from the nbn box
It has to be connected from nbn box to Wan port of D6220 with UTP cable then from port 1 of D6220 to Wan port of Asus router.
This is my plan but D6220 is not working
I think when I change to modem only, WAN port does not work
Is there any other option?
The modem I received from ISP is working very well but once it has been disconnected, it doesn't connect automatically again so I need to restart it. This is the reason why I wanna change the modem
- I can not connect nbn box to router directly. It doesn't work without modem
- there's no RJ45 cable
- I don't use DSL port on D6220 because I use UTP cable from nbn box
- When I use D6220 for Modem/router without Asus router, I have to set up the VLANID is 2
- I need a ID and Password when I connect, so I put these on my Asus router. Not in the modem
Model: D6200v2|AC1200 WiFi DSL Modem Router

I do not understand. The Arris cm8200 is a cable modem.

You want to pile that on to another modem and then a router?

Where does the D6220 come into the picture? It is a DSL modem/router. It cannot replace a cable modem.

Check this and you will see that HFC is not DSL.

What is an NBN network and is my NETGEAR DSL modem router compatible? | Answer | NETGEAR Support

I hope you did not buy the D6220 because you read about it there. The thing is misleading. The D6220 is "compatible" only in the sense that the router bit works. The DSL modem is useless. Instead of buying a DSL modem router you would do better to buy a router that works behind the cable modem.

You already have the Asus GT-ax11000, pout that behind the Arris cm8200 and you should not need anything else.
