D6400 VPN Configuration
Hi,
Having some issues with OpenVPN on my Netgear D6400 router.
When attempting to initiate a connection it fails due to MD5 in use rather than SHA256 (a brief search reveals this to be a problem since OpenVPN 2.4.x across multiple Netgear products):
"WARNING: No server certificate verification method has been enabled."
"OpenSSL: error:140AB18E:SSL routines:SSL_CTC_use_certificate:ca md too weak"
"Cannot load certificate file client.crt"
Can anyone confirm if there has been a firmware update which resolves this issue, I have an update available but the release notes state simply 'Security Fix' which is wonderfully cryptic, I would prefer not to go through the hassle of updating the firmware and reconfiguring my device unless I know it will fix the problem.
Any advice appreciated, thanks.

Re: D6400 VPN Configuration
They changed the OpenVPN support in the previous version:
D6400 Firmware Version 1.0.0.80 | Answer | NETGEAR Support
Some modems have yet to receive that fix.
Not sure about even newer VPN needs or what to make of this:
(Important) we only post the FW on WEB SITE for downloading, NOT on FTP upgrade server, because of some new feature design limitation.
Does it mean that newer firmware versions don't get that fix? But it says the same things for your version.
