D7000 (UK) Issues - Hangs / Freezes / Lockups
I am having Freeze/Lockup issues with the Netgear D7000.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
I have had four in total. I do not think it is a heat issue as the unit is generally cool to the touch.
SETTINGS:
Wifi is on a schedule. It switches off at midnight every night and turns back on at 9am every day.
WPS disabled (but light remains on)
Wifi - 2.4GHz is on channel 13 instead of Auto.
SSID Name is not broadcast.
MTU Size (in bytes): 1458
The router is still under warranty.
I will give as much detail as I can starting with the most recent. Please note to get the unit working again I have to switch the power off and then turn it back on. So all logs are cleared.
I have also performed factory reset to no avail.
Note: You will notice that on 3 of 4 of these freeze/lockups, router uptime was 33 days. The other was 36 days.
My ISP is Plusnet and on each occasion this has happened I have checked both Plusnet and BT Broadband Service Status Pages to check for any issue in my area and there were none.

Re: D7000 (UK) Issues - Hangs / Freezes / Lockups
Well it froze/locked up again. Again it happened during the night when no devices were attached.
Decided enough is enough.
Netgear your products and support are very shoddy.
Contacted Amazon today and they have agreed to refund my purchase. Time to look for a replacement. It will certainly not be a Netgear product.
Thanks for nothing Netgear.

Re: D7000 (UK) Issues - Hangs / Freezes / Lockups
Odd that your lockups have been about a month apart, as if there is some event every month that causes the lockups.
But I agree the D7000 is way too fragile and Netgear is not paying much attention to it. Mine at first locked-up every day until I downgraded firmware and turned-off Beamforming. Now I'm afraid to touch it i.e. to upgrade fw for security or "fixes".
