D7000v2-V1.0.0.58 Firmware Update
Hi,
Trying to follow the gudiance to update to the latest firmware, whe i downloaded to my Mac in the zip file i have the html refering to config docs and a file D7000v2-V1.0.0.58_1.0.1.chk. I thought a firmware version should have a .img extension. Should i just rename this, dont want to brick my router. Had a quicklook with a text editor and can see it probably is an image, but want to be sure.
Thanks

Why? (For some devices you'd be right; for others, wrong.)

No.
Did you make the mistake of trusting the contents of the D7000v2 User
Manual? That would be the manual which mentions "the red Internet port"
which you don't have on a D7000v2? That manual is lousy with errors,
apparently the result of careless copy+paste from the User Manual for a
D7000[v1], which does have a "red Internet port", and uses a ".img"
firmware image file.
If the file name says "D7000v2", then it's for a D7000v2. A file
like, say, "D7000-V1.0.1.78_1.0.1.img" would be for a D7000[v1].
Trust no one, I always say (especially Netgear documentation).

Or something else is wrong. What's your current firmware version?
