D7800 Nighathawk AP Mode
Hi,
I purhcase subject router yesterday. Tried to connect it to my exisiting NBN Subscriber(KOGAN) in Australia through technical support team over the phone but could not. Then I thought about using said router as Access Point only from Huawei HG659 by following simple step clicking on enable AP mode from advanced setup and applying setting.
Connected cable in LAN port of Huwai gateway and other end in INTERNET port of Nighthawk router.
But after that I just lost access to night hawk router and internt light is permanently amber even though i restart the router with no cable connected to the port.
only way I can access my router is to RESET it to default settings.
I have no idea whats going on. Please assist.

Firmware version?

Is that a DSL connection, or what?

What, exactly, does "lost access" mean to you? What kind of access,
from where? Web browser on some computer/device connected somehow to
something, or what? As usual, showing actual actions (commands) with
their actual results (error messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more
helpful than vague descriptions or interpretations.
When you enable AP Mode, the D7800-as-WAP gets a new LAN IP address,
which might mean that a little extra work is needed to find the thing.
Details may depend on exactly what you're doing, what's connected to
what, and so on.
If you chose "Get dynamically from existing router" (the default),
then you may need to go to the main router to see which address it gave
to the D7800-as-WAP.
> [...] and internt light is permanently amber [...]
I wouldn't bet that the Internet indicator means much when the D7800
is configured as a WAP. (Possible firmware defect.)

Which "the port"?
There's another recent thread with a D7800-as-WAP complaint, but
there's not much useful information there, either:
