hi ive had my d7800 for about 6 mnths or so. Had initial problems ith it not detecting the dsl, downgraded the firmware from .V1.0.1.47 to V1.0.1..20 and everything worked great. After recent hardware issues, I thouht id see if new firmware had fixed bug..the V.56 seemed to... yay! great, I could now add a usb hdd as a network share...
but after 24 hours, i found the .56 drops the dsl line, and behaves a if you have incorrect password for the broadband. you HAVE to login and manuallly reenter psssword, or at leastclick in password box and hit return, only then will it reconnect.
This is a pretty major issue, as it now drops the dsl about every 10 mins.
As this seems to be direct problem with firmware, Im amazed if no one else has the problem,and that the fw was released with this bug. I've had to recomend freinds against netgear hardware based on this issue, as there seems to be no acknowledgement of even its existence
