Re: DGND3700 Wireless N 5ghz speed
Mines been comparative to .12 speed if you mean modem firmware. If you updated your pc it may have been using now non compatible features (extreme G)
Check what the lights are on the front of the device and check the manual to see what they mean as you could just be in compatibility mode (have a g device on same ssid [maybe a printer?]). My brothers pc had a G card so as soon as he got on I was either dropped or lowered to his speeds
Check the lights first to give you ideas.

Re: DGND3700 Wireless N 5ghz speed
I also have this problem but only when I am using WPA/WPA 2..if I switch off the encryption it will be back to 300 transmit rate.
So I am keeping SSID Broadcasting to Off and Wireless Card Access List to On till they will release a firmware to correct this bug.

Well I'm using an iMac 8,1 and it supports 130 transmit rate...I don't have an adapter. So in my WI FI settings I have 130 transmit rate with WPA/WPA 2 off and 54 transmit rate with encryption on.

Re: DGND3700 Wireless N 5ghz speed
Hi.
I can only connect at 54Mbps on 2.4 or 5ghz.
I'm using latest firmware (18), latest wifi driver and wmm is on.
I'm a new user, havn't tried old firmwares.
I have a wifi usb dongle and i'm using it under win7 x64.
Its specs say: 54Mbps data transfer rate and up to 300Mbps @64dBm. Does it mean I have to do something to enable the 300Mbps or is it a FW problem?

Re: DGND3700 Wireless N 5ghz speed
Make sure you are using WPA2-AES security in order to get over 54Mbps.

Yes, I'm using WPA2-AES.
Should I try disabling security?

Always worth a try for troubleshooting. Make sure the USB has the latest drivers and the 3700 the latest firmware.

Re: DGND3700 Wireless N 5ghz speed
Disabling security brings a 72mbps connection.
Well, it looks like there are some problems.
It has perfect signal (as reported from realtek signal power 100%, connection quality 100%).
Why can't I reach max speed?

Re: DGND3700 Wireless N 5ghz speed
Hi,
I can confirm that this model works up to 300MBs for 5Ghz when no password is set.
Once set to WPA2-PSK (AES) the wireless speed drops to 54MBs.
The problem is with the NetGear firmware not the Mac as I have a Mac Pro 2010 and I am experiencing the same issue.
Current firmware used - V1.0.0.17_1.0.17
NetGear please investigate a solution.
Regards
Dejoko

Re: DGND3700 Wireless N 5ghz speed
Hi,
Just an update for you guys, my second router died now, well it would not turn on again therefore netgear have replaced it.
it came with older firmware and i was connected at 300 on wireless n on both my macbook pro and also my pc wich is using NETGEAR WNA3100, after this i upgraded my firmware and the results are it won't connect above 54mbps now.
this proves to me its the firmware and not hardware as it was fine before i updated.

Re: DGND3700 Wireless N 5ghz speed
I too can confirm that with security set to WPA2-PSK(AES) that the max connection speed is 54Mbps on the 5GHz radio. And even though the DGND3700 is set for AES it is really doing TKIP. TKIP should allow for 150Mbps, but it seems to act as though it's throttled back to WEP 54Mbps. I have backed off from the .17NA firmware to .12NA and the 5GHz connection rate is no working the way I have it set with AES and 300Mbps.

Re: DGND3700 Wireless N 5ghz speed
at the moment, the only way to use WPA2 is WPA-PSK (TKIP) + WPA2-PSK (AES) mode, because if you select WPA2-PSK (AES) it will set WPA2 (TKIP), and TKIP support 54mbps.
