DM200 modem with nighthawk R8000

Hi Folks

Just changed my modem router supplied from my Isp as it was crap to say the least. I have bought a DM200 and a Nighthawk R8000 which is working perfectly and getting good speeds. I have a 80/20Mb connection.

My question is: Should my DM200 be set to modem only when connected to my nighhawk router or is it ok to leave the Dm200 as a rmodem router. I am not having problems but just would like to know what the correct settings should be as I tried a leak test from GRC.com and my firewall failed the test,

Yes for best results set it to modem only when using another router.

Hi

Thanks for the replies, I had the modem set as a modem/router , think this was the default settings, but as it was connected to an R8000 nighthawk, did wonder. It works perfectly well in default settings but I'll go change it now.
