I just purchase a GS605v5 switch.  I am trying to add more ports but not for more computers.  I have a AT&T Micro Cell, a couple of Swann Security systems that I'm trying to connect.  But the only things that seem to work on the switch are the input port from the modem and the output port to the wireless router.  These light blink fast.  The ports I have the micro cell and the swann security camera systems plugged into don't blink at all.  Just a steady green light.

My question is, will this switch work for something other than connecting multiple computer.

Yes, you can use the switch with your micro cell and security cameras.

The problem is that you have connected it incorrectly. Generally, the connections should be modem->router->switch. Once you do this, you can connect devices directly to the router or the switch.
