I have bought a second hand router in perfect condition and I have noticed that searching for update returns the following information included in the table.
However, after downloading and installing, the update still shows up. Like nothing has happened.
Is this a bug or does the update not show any error indicating that it did not install successfuly?
There is a new GUI text file available: | |
Current Version | V1.0.1.44 |
New Firmware Version | V1.0.1.50 |
Do you want to download and use this new GUI text file? |

I performed a manual firmware update and the GUI update does not show anymore.
In the Advanced Tab it said the firmware version was V1.0.1.78_1.0.1 that is why I said it was the latest, which it is.
The GUI however was on the version shown in the table and now after the manual update it is 1.0.1.67.
I do not know why the GUI did not want to update but now it is fixed.

How, exactly? Did you let the D7000 do all the work, or did you
download the firmware kit yourself, and install it manually?

Perhaps nothing much did. Its ability to emit an error message
during a firmware load is approximately nil.
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Downloads. (For older versions, under Firmware and Software
Downloads, look for "View Previous Versions".) Find the kit(s).
Download the kit(s) you want. Read the "Release Notes" file for
instructions. (In the User Manual, look for "firmware", and,
especially, for a topic like "Manually Upload Firmware to the Router".)
When that fails because of a deficient User Manual, try:
Many things have happened since "V1.0.1.44". I'd try jumping ahead
further than "V1.0.1.50".

The router is on latest firmware. It is the GUI text file update that shows up.
I am performing an automatic update.

As always, an actual version number would be more useful than your
opinion of what's "latest" today.

What, exactly, "shows up" where, when you do what?
> I am performing an automatic update.
Of what? To what? I'd trust a manual update more.
