How to turn my D6300B into a WiFi extender WITH WPA2 to a FritzBox AP
I have a FritzBox AP. I cannot change that since it is issued by my provider.
But the WiFi does not carry through the house.
I have a cable running from the AP to the part where the WiFi is low.
Now I want to setup my NetGear D6300B Router as an extender of that signal without having to log on to another network. I want to logon as if I was logging on to the FritzBox. Apparantly "repeat wireless" with the MAC address of the FritzBox doesn't work. As I have to take down the WPA2 security of the wireless setting from the D6300. And apparantly I have to run WEP from the FritzBox instead of WPA2.
The last I cannot do. I need the WPA2.
Does anyone know how to work around it and get this to work with the D6300?
TIA
Edward

Do you really mean a FritzBox Router? I'm assuming yes.

If this is an ethernet cable, then you can set up the D6300B as an Access Point. You connect the ethernet cable to the D6300B internet port. The AP mode is on page 103 of the manual: http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/D6300/D6300B_UM_GR_15Sep2014.pdf

Re: How to turn my D6300B into a WiFi extender WITH WPA2 to a FritzBox AP
Thank you @StephenB.
I really meant a FritzBox Router type 7369. It is where my provider enters, residing where the cable enters the house.
It has it's own WiFi. But the reception is poor in the living room.
I want to setup the D6300B in such a way I'm on the same WiFi without having to switch (manually) and having to logon to the WiFi-network when using my WiFi devices. I actually want it to be the same WiFi-network.
Setting it up as an extender mimicing the AP with it's MAC address doesn't seem to work. It's still a seperate WiFi network, but without security (I have to disable security for it to put in that mode) or use WEP on both machines. The latter being impossible as WEP is almost equal to no security.
If you say it'll extend the FritzBox WiFi network as an AP (not creating another one besides the FritzBox's) I'll be very interested in how to make that possible.
I sincerely appreciate the help.
Thanks in advance!
P.S. I forgot to mention that the D6300B is connected by wire to the FritzBox AP through a switchbox in the 'Internet" slot.

Look at the manual link I included above, it references the AP mode. You can also try the D6300 manual (English) - though I don't know how the D6300 differs from the D6300B you have (which is specifically for Germany). That link is here: http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/D6300/D6300_UM_23Dec2015.pdf

I'll give it a shot this weekend.
I'll post the results to let you know if it solved the problem.
