How to turn off D7000 internet access at night
I have a net hog of a son who gets so engrossed in what he's doing, he doesn't notice the time, often staying online to 3am, conversely can't wake in the morning.
I know how to turn wifi off but not the ethernet as he is connected via powerline to the net.
I'd like to be able to turn off the wired access as per wifi at a set time each night.
Any suggestions?

Re: How to turn off D7000 internet access at night
1) Assign a fixed IP to your sons devices in Advanced -> Setup -> LAN Setup
2) Go to Advanced -> Security -> Block services and enter as port range 1-65535
3) Go to Advanced -> Security -> Schedule and tick on "Every Day" and "Time to Block" then Apply

Ok, how do I set a fixed IP, is this something I set up via the D7000?

Yes,
First you need to get the MAC address of your son's device(s). Then you need to enter it in Advanced -> Setup -> LAN Setup in the Address Reservation field along with an IP you chose

Is that accurate? Not a D7000v2? Look at the product label.
Firmware version?

You seem to be trying to find a technological solution to a
social/behavioral problem. This can be a great waste of time and
effort for all involved.

You could do that. And, your child could fiddle with the MAC address
of his computer/device, or assign a static IP address directly to his
computer/device, either of which would defeat that scheme. Or he could
reset and reconfigure the router. Or, ...
The fact that you're here, asking this sort of question, suggests
that you may be out-matched in a technological battle over control of
your Internet access. You might get a more satisfactory outcome by
dealing with the real problem, which is unrelated to any router
settings.

Then there is stuff you can do with parental controls.
Read about that in the manual at the end of this link:
