Losing connection to D7000 every now and then [Wired]

Hi all,

I have an intermittent issue with my router.

Every now and then, say about 2-3 days apart, I lose connectivity to my router.

All the solutions from my side [Desktop PC] don't work, including resetting the adaptor and restarting.

It just connects to the router and keeps sending packets and the received packets stay at 0.

The solution is to just shutdown the router and start it up again - which is not hard...but I use my PC remotely pretty frequently and that I can't do that reset remotely.

The cables don't get moved - and the rest of my devices, like the phones etc lose it too, but I didn't try to diagnose those.

Using V1.0.0.32 firmware for address reservation issue.

Anyone having a similar issue or knows how to keep it from doing that?

Thanks

Hello AnfelicCore

You may want to check out this article about adjusting your MTU

Hi Darren,

Do you think MTU can be the cause of this issue?

Hello AndelicCore

It is a possibility that could be causing a issue if not then we can look to more things.

I have tried to play around with MTU but apparently 1492 is the best one for me - which was the default.

Might not be the cause of the disconnections

Hey again,

Actually it is not an internet problem - I am like 99% sure it is the router as all connections to the router fail - it just says that it is connected but it is just that the router doesn't send any packets back to the PC. (According to windows network status screen)

Have the same issue just got an rma changing back to asus the ac87u. Done with netgear you guys cant even get the firmwares right after a year of it being released? And for the love of god no native ipv6 support. What a joke. Netgear you need to overhaul the software on youre products big time. Get rid of the genie ui and go minimalistic like asuswrt. Great hardware poor software. Rant over
