N600 Not working with fibre

ISP changed my to fibre and supplied a Technicolor router. I can link the  DGND3700 to the new router but can not use it as the the only modem wi fi router. The box clearly states it works with fibre. I bought my N600 as a future proof dual band upgrade to my ISP supplied single band router.

It may be that it only needs a firmware update but here in UK support ends and nobody is available to help. Until now my router has always been Netgear but I will not buy another. What is the point of registering if suport is so limited?

   Not a very detailed description of anything.  Which ISP?  Which "a
Technicolor router"?

   Why?  What does the DGND3700 (plain/"v1"? "v2"?) add to the set-up?

My isp is Utility Warehouse  not that it  is relevent. The Technicolor is a TG589 again not relevent. Download at the router is about 20 Mb. I now use a Tp link WiFi extender and a Tp Powerline to a smart Tv, Sky Q (wifi off) and Panasonic smart recorder. Until the Sky Q box was installed my DGND 3700 was adequate for my needs. I did not want to change my ISP of 14 years and prefer to use my own router for security. The Dgnd3700 works as a wifi extender via cable to the powerline using the TG589 as a modem, but is not easy to hide. The fibre is to an Openreach cabinet about 1K away.  Using this setup WiFi to RE200 to Android phone or Tab is the same as powerline cable connection.

Sky blamed my network and router for the internet constantly dropping out. Hence the move to fibre. Switching Off the Q wifi and using powerline adaptor made the connection more stable but inadequte bandwidth still saw internet dropping out.  All is now stable again, but I now have two redundant Netgear routers. Ok technology moves on but if it says Fibre on the box ,I still have the box, it should work.

   Thanks for your advice about relevance.  From the information I found
on that model, it includes a VDSL2 modem.

   "1K" = 1km?  Are you connecting an optical fiber to your TG589, or a
phone/DSL cable?  If phone/DSL, then what level of DSL?

   Still wondering.  The DGND3700 includes an ADSL2+ modem, not a VDSL2
modem, so, if you have a VDSL2 connection to your ISP, then a DGND3700
can't do that job.  As its User Manual shows, the fiber compatibility of
the DGND3700 involves an Ethernet connection to its WAN/Internet port
(from a "Fiber/Cable modem").

   Paint it a different color?  This doesn't sound like a problem with
which I can help.

   What's the second one?

   It should work as designed.  What would you like to do with it?

   You seem to have a complicated network configuration with a poor
description.  ("RE200"?)  I don't know you're trying to do with all this
equipment, or what you expect the DGND3700 to do.

Yes the ISP  is connection is VDSL The DGND 3700 works only with the Technicolor working as a modem so is now redundant. I agree it is a complicated network. The range extender was bought for wifi to my Tab and phone in the living room. Few of any network devices are ornamental and nobody wants to see cables. My 5G network is only used with my 2 Android , WiFi only, devices. The powerline adaptors give the best streaming to the media devices. Streaming high def Tv over wifi to normal ASDL may work in large cities but was not good here. The Sky Q may work with a Sky router to Sky ISP but this is an expensive solution. It did not proove reliable to the DGND 3700 and interfered with both wifi signal. It has taken a while to sort out but I am afraid it is the end of very long relationship with Netgear. It simply is not worth buying expensive devices that are obsolete so quickly.

   Clearly then, you've pulled the rug out from under the modem in the
DGND3700.

   Define "so quickly".  I don't know when you bought what, but the User
Manual for a DGND3700[v1] is dated "May 2011".  It's not immediately
obvious (to me) that buying an ADSL2+ modem(+router) from a maker other
than Netgear would have got you any further than this Netgear device got
you.
