Perhaps because "NETGEAR71" is a default "WiFi Network Name (SSID)",
not a model number.

If _you_ looked there, then you might find such a default SSID,
typically "NETGEARxx", where "xx" is a two-digit number.
In any case, "I AM TRYING TO CONNECT TO THE INTERNET" is not a useful
problem description. It does not say what you did. It does not say
what happened whan you did it. As usual, showing actual actions with
their actual results (error messages, ...) can be more helpful than
vague descriptions or interpretations.
A model number would be a good start. Some idea of any other
equipment involved, and how it's connected, might also help.
