Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 D7000 firmware update - .CHK file
Hi -
My routerlogin.net panel suggested a firmware upgrade from V1.0.0.41_1.0.1.
I did the 'check' update... which seemed to fail. The router is rebooted and the firmware version hasn't changed.
I have since downloaded the files from: https://kb.netgear.com/000060498/D7000-Firmware-Version-1-0-1-70
Unzipped, etc...
But this is a .IMG file - and when I upload it to the routerlogin.net control panel, it says "Please assign the correct file. The file format is *.chk".
I can't find a .chk firmware upgrade file on the Internet.

That looks more likely to be a firmware version for a D7000v2 than
for a D7000[v1]. (Does your "routerlogin.net" have only one "panel"?)

Firmware for a D7000[v1].

Because it's for a D7000[v1], and that's what a D7000[v1] uses.

Because it's for a D7000[v1], and you apparently have a D7000v2.

You looked everywhere on the whole Internet?
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your _actual_ model number,
and look for Downloads. (For older versions, under Firmware and
Software Downloads, look for "View Previous Versions".) Find the
kit(s). Download the kit(s) you want. Read the "Release Notes" file
for instructions.
