Netgear Nighthawk D7000 modem AC1900 Heat Issue
I'm writing this to see if anyone else with this particular modem has noticed how boiling hot it gets under normal operation? It feels like it's getting upwards of over 60 celcius or more. It's got heaps of air vents all over it so really it shouldn't be getting that hot under normal operation. Maybe netgear needs to put a fan in it for the next revision. I know technology and technology doesn't like to much heat.

It's a modem+router. "D7000[v1]" or "D7000v2"? Firmware version?
My D7000[v1] (currently at V1.0.1.70_1.0.1) runs cool -- barely above
ambient. I don't ask it to do much other than act as a modem+router,
however -- no USB-connected devices, no use of any CPU-intensive
features.

For little money, you should be able to add a small fan near it. But
that should not be necessary. If it's still under warranty, then you
might want to ask Netgear.
