Was your "this Wi-fi router" provided by the apartment management, or
left behind by a previous occupant, or what?
> [...] so I set it up [...]
Not a very detailed description of anything. What, exactly, did you
connect to what? And of what did this "set it up" consist?
> [...] the netgenie says [...]
What, exactly, does "the netgenie" mean to you? Where, exactly, do
you see what, exactly, when you do what, exactly? Are you looking at a
web browser, or some app or other, or what? On what? Connected to
what, how?
> [...] my ethernet/dsl cable isnt connected but it is?
Ok, I'll bite. Did you connect an Ethernet cable from somewhere to
somewhere else, or did you connect a DSL/phone cable from somewhere to
somewhere else, or what? Any of the where's in there might be
interesting, too.
> [...] it wont give any Internet connection
Now that we know (vaguely) what it does _not_ do, perhaps you might
reveal what it _does_ do? LED indicators? Information from its
management web site? Any useful information at all?
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation. Get the User Manual. Read. Look for
"Troubleshoot"?
Who's providing your Internet service? Talk to them?
