Hi,
Problem
D6400 ADSL modem unable to connect to Sky Broadband after multple troubleshooting steps.
Background
I've recently purchased a new D6400 ADSL modem to replace my stock SKY modem(s).
I have the SR101 and the newer ER110 (but i resorted back to the SR101 due to better WiFi).
Diagnostics
- Obtained the username/password via wireshark for both sky modems.
-- They both have different credentials eg. 13467xxxx@skydsl|xxxxxxxx
-- Added to the DHCP option setting for option 61
- Obatained the client 60 ID just in case eg. 2.06.2188.R|001|ER110|AC10163B01....
- Obtained the mac address of the WAN port for both sky modems
- Updated to the latest firmware
- Left the account / login settings blank
- All others (that i can think of) were left as default
I basically disconnected the sky modem rj11 cable, connected to the D6400, however, the D6400 does not connect to the internet. I tried various settings, add client option 61 (as above) but to no avail.
I tried running another wireshark to see what the D6400 was doing but I could not see much data being sent/received, especially when I applied the UDP filter.
I would appreciate any help as I'm on the verge of returning it which I really do not want to do.
I've been searching the forum and came accross a few interesting posts, but nothing has helped so far...

Thanks in advance,

I managed to get this going in the end...
Went back to basics and used the setup wizard.
I selected "other" in the ISP, and used the o2 credentials:

Re: New D6400 not connecting to Sky Broadband despite numerous attempts
Sky seems to be especially good at making life difficult for people who want to use third party hardware.
Did your search find this one?

Even if that doesn't work for you, it does hint at the best place to look for solutions, the Sky user forum.
