That might depend on exacly what "my ISP router" is (and/or what your
ISP is). Did you have any particular "nighthawk" model in mind?

It might help to say which ISP you use. If you have something like BT in the UK, for example, you have to be careful to choose something that supports the IPv6 that BT uses.
If the ISP has a user self-support forum, that could be a good place to compare notes. Fellow customers may have reported tales of grief, or success, with a particular Nighthawk model.
