Nighthawk D7000 Firmware

I have just upgraded the firmware to V1.0.1.74_1.0.1 and have lost internet access. Does anyone else have this issue and can I return to the previous firmware ? Thanks

Not a very detailed description.  As usual, showing actual actions
(commands) with their actual results (error messages, LED indicators,
...) can be more helpful than vague descriptions or interpretations.

Not I (twice).  A forum search might find something.

If you can still talk to the management web site of the D7000, then
visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Downloads.  (For older versions, under Firmware and Software
Downloads, look for "View Previous Versions".)  Find the kit(s).
Download the kit(s) you want.  Read the "Release Notes" file for
instructions.

It should not have happened. Yes, you can go-back to the prior firmware (if you have it, by re-flashing to it) but that seems unlikely to be the solution here.

I would try first just flashing .74 again in case there was some glitch somewhere, and it seems your setup/settings may have been messed-up so of course look at those and make certain they are right.

Re: Nighthawk D7000 Firmware

I see no mention of a factory reset. Maybe I missed it.

Did you reset the router to factory settings after the firmware flash?

New firmware sometimes introduces changes that are not compatible with the old configuration.

So while it isn't guaranteed to fix problems a factory reset is the first thing to try if you have issues with new firmware.

This is a nuisance because you then have to reconfigure the device all over again.

You can backup your settings before you reset and restore them later. But that may just bring back the fault. Then again, at least you will know if the reset fixed the problem.

The factory reset is more a "witchcraft" move than a technically informed solution, but it does seem to fix problems.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll try that.
