What are you trying to do? Replace the HG635? Is it dead?
I ask because experienced users prefer to have separate modems and routers. The D7000 is a modem router.
If your HG635 can do "bridge mode" you could put a new router behind it. This would give you a much bigger choice of routers and features.
I would have suggested a DM200 modem and a separate router, but something mad has happened to modem prices. That one now costs over twice what I paid for it earlier this year.
