Nighthawk D7000v2 - solid red/amber light on ethernet port after firmware upgrade

Hoping somebody can give a newbie some advice. I just updated the firmware on my Nighthawk D7000v2 to the latest version V1.0.0.51_1.0.1. I now have an issue that i have a solid red/amber coloured light showing up when my laptop is connected to the wifi router via an ethernet cable. Prior to the firmware upgrade the ethernet light always showed up as solid white. Even though it's showing as solid red/amber i can still access the internet without any issues. Thanks.

If you think that the new firmware caused the problem, then you could
load older firmware.  Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your
model number, and look for Downloads.  (For older versions, under
Firmware and Software Downloads, look for "View Previous Versions".)
Find the kit(s).  Download the kit(s) you want.  Read the "Release
Notes" file for instructions.

Red and amber are different colors.  Red should be pretty obviously
red.

   Other devices/cables?

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation.  Get the User Manual.  Look for "Top
Panel with LEDs", "Table 2. LED and button descriptions", and "Ethernet
ports 1-4".

If the link speed dropped from 1000MHz (gigabit, white) to 10/100MHz
(amber), then one explanation would be a bad cable.  A gigabit
connection needs all eight wires to work; a sub-gigabit connection needs
only (the right set of) four wires.

Thanks. I uploaded the previous firmware version and the ethernet light is solid white again.
